Chef Paul Hoag’s Bio
With over 30 years in the hospitality industry, Chef Hoag holds both the
Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) and Certified Executive Chef (CEC)
designations. His impressive career includes opening Canoe Restaurant, one
of Toronto’s culinary landmark with Oliver & Bonacini, leading as Executive
Chef with the Liberty Group, and training under World Master Chef George
McNeil at Toronto’s iconic Royal York Hotel.
Chef Hoag’s culinary journey has taken him to the world stage. He has
competed at the World Cup in Luxembourg and the World Culinary
Olympics (2016 & 2020), and now proudly serves as Team Manager for
Canadian Culinary Team. In 2019, he was the only Canadian invited to
cook at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies in Stockholm, preparing dinner
for the Swedish Royal Family. Earlier in his career, Chef Hoag also had the
great privilege of cooking for Princess Diana and Prince Charles during a
royal visit to Canada.
Today, as Executive Chef at McMaster University, Chef Hoag personally
oversees the culinary experience for international guests of the President
and leadership teams ensuring each visit is marked by world-class
hospitality and cuisine.
